Busy Busy Busy

After a few months of selling vintage clothes solo, Brian took interest in the shop and from now on he'll be handling most of the "business" aspects of it to actually turn it into a business.  I'm kind of a scatter brain, so he's creating templates and spreadsheets to keep me organized.  My goal is to open a boutique one day and sell vintage and handmade stuff and maybe even cosign with other people.  I kind of already started consigning with my sister and Kelly.  Both had some vintage designer pieces they didn't want so they gave them to me to list and sell and we'll be splitting profits.  Let's just hope I can get my hands on some more designer things real soon!

Now on to the other business...I will be selling my jewelry at the next Art is Hard art show at the Leaky Lifeboat.  I'm pretty excited because I was trying to avoid doing the craft fair because I wasn't sure of what kind of crowd would be there.  But this is the fifth art show at the bar and I've been in and gone to a few before this, so I know what the general crowd will be like.  I think I have a lot more chances at selling to people at the bar.

Alright, so I guess that's it for now...I'll be posting some pictures later this week of some new pieces listed (in either shop).

Treasure

A treasury I put together on etsy!

Sweaters!

Today I had a shoot with Liz for some new items listed in the vintage shop!
I have another shoot lined up for tomorrow with Kara.  I have a few more exciting vintage finds to list in the shop, so I am very anxious!  I have a lot going on tomorrow, so hopefully I can get some items listed.

First Snow Day of the Year

It snowed today.  Kind of a bummer since it's not even November yet!  But it was the perfect day to wear warm stockings and a knit dress and drink hot cocoa, all the while wearing my panda hat.

Snow Day

I guess it's been a while, but I'm happy to say that I have some new stuff to show you.  The weather is getting cold and snowy (yeah, it's still October!) and I usually like to take photos of my work outside, where the light is natural.  I've been busting out a bunch of pieces since I'm running out of time to photograph.

I also made a treasury on Etsy dedicated to my love for all things black and white stripes.

I have some new stuff up in the shop!  I recently started working with naturally shed antlers, which is really fun.  I cut them into sweet medallions...and when I say I did, I really mean my dad because I'm not allowed to touch the saw!  Hah!

I also put together some DIY starter kits.

Everything is up in the shop, so take a look!

Just scored these beauts on Ebay!  I think I'm leaning towards earrings for these.

New Project!

I decided to try something new and order three naturally shed elk antler pieces.  Now, before you call PETA on me, I will have you know that elks shed their antlers after mating season (google it).

I want to bring more nature inspired pieces to the shop, and I think this is a good start.  I like the idea of big, bulky statement pieces, so these should be fun to make!  The one downside to this project...WAITING FOR THEM TO ARRIVE!!

New Items!

Even more items listed in the shop!  I decided to attempt to make some earrings, and found out that I can!  I really like these because they're natural and earthy, yet the black ones are asymmetrical and a little weird.

Ox Bone Skeleton Bead Bracelet

I made this little guy yesterday.  I'm kind of in love with it, even though it's ox bone.  It's perfect for Halloween, and I can't help but be reminded of Indiana Jones with the red beaded accents.  I hope the rest of my beads come today!

Holy Trinity Holiday Craft Fair!

I'm excited to announce that I will be displaying and selling some of my bracelets at a holiday craft fair at a local high school this fall!  I've been making so much lately that it's only necessary to start selling them.

Sam and I went on an adventure yesterday and left with a basket full of beads- More me than her.  I spent my night creating some charming bracelets of different shapes and sizes and colors and stones, etc.

It's not quite Halloween yet, but it's still close enough.  I came across this pendant yesterday and had to put it on a chain.  It's totally goth, totally creepy, totally me!  HAH.  I actually really hate spiders, but I suppose one made out of metal can't hurt me, right?

Here's a necklace I made for the shop.  I decided to separate my shops, so now I am rebuilding both.

New!!

Today I am going to stock on some beads and work on this amazing design for a necklace.  I'm extremely anxious to share it with you!

Necklaces

These are some of the necklaces featured in my shop.  I am still trying to get it going.  I don't want to do too much promoting until I am satisfied with the amount of items I have listed.

Hurricane Irene

Brian and I decided to drive around and take some photos of some of the damages from the hurricane.  We mostly saw fallen trees, and one case of flooding.  There were a lot of houses with no power, including Brian and most of Massapequa.
